Preparation Strategy

Complete preparation guide for BSF CONSTABLE 2026

For BSF Sports Quota, your selection depends 100% on your Sports Achievement and Physical Fitness. There is no written exam, so do not waste time studying books.

1. Documentation (The First Filter)

Most candidates are rejected here.

  • Certificate Date: Ensure your sports certificate is within the eligibility period (usually last 2 years).
  • Format: It must be from a recognized federation (National/International). State-level participation often doesnтАЩt count for Constable (GD).

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Height & Chest: Measure yourself at home. If your chest expansion is less than 5cm, practice breathing exercises (Push-ups help).
  • Weight: It must be proportionate to height (BMI). If you are overweight, start running immediately.

3. Sports Trial (The тАЬExamтАЭ)

  • Skill Assessment: You will be asked to demonstrate your skills (e.g., Shooting accuracy, Wrestling moves).
  • Fitness: BSF looks for endurance. You might be asked to run 1.6km even if you are a shooter, just to check basic fitness.

4. Medical Examination

  • Eyesight: 6/6 is ideal. LASIK is generally not allowed unless specific rules permit.
  • Dental: Clean your teeth (scaling) before going. 14 dental points are required.
  • No Knock Knees: Check if your knees touch when standing straight.

Golden Rule: Discipline is the biggest factor for BSF. Be well-groomed (haircut, shave) during the trial.
