GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national exam for M.Tech/ME admissions in IITs/NITs and PSU recruitment like IOCL, ONGC, NTPC.
B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch or equivalent degree holders. Final year students can also apply. No age limit.
GATE has 65 questions for 100 marks in 3 hours. 55 questions are MCQ and 10 are NAT (Numerical Answer Type). Negative marking for MCQs.
Major PSUs: IOCL, ONGC, NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, HPCL, BPCL, Power Grid, NHAI, SAIL, Coal India recruit through GATE score.
